On October 16, 2018, a delegate from the University of Zakho headed by the president of the university, his Excellency Dr. Lazgin A. Jamil and Dr. Lokman A. Abdulkareem -Dean of College of Engineering, visited Helmholtz Zentrum Rossendurf (HZDR) in Dresden, Germany. HZDR is a renowned German research center and laboratory which conducts researches in areas of matter, health, and energy. The visit lasted for five days during which they held meetings with the key members of the center. The main purpose of the visit was to evaluate the current staff and students training project between the university and the center. Both sides stressed on how to create stronger ties with each other and agreed on future academic related collaborations in the areas of mutual interest. The delegate also visited a number of their laboratories. It is worth mentioning that the center had hosted and trained 31 undergraduate Petroleum Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students of the University of Zakho in a 10-day training program on 9 October 2018 (see: http://uoz.edu.krd/news.php?NID=OTAxOr9C1NCd ).
